Basic Preferences

Permute has a lot of different options split into several categories:

General

General preferences contain options to:

• switch between icon and list mode
• select DVD format
• select conversion destination
• setup default subtitles encoding
• additional settings about general behavior of the app

Workshop

You can enable and disable Permute’s Workshop modules here. Please see help for Permute’s Workshop for more information.

iTunes

Permute includes iTunes integration that allows you to automatically add converted files into iTunes. You can set up the media kind, genre, playlist, etc.

History

When you convert a file, Permute stores the conversion into history. The history is by default cleared on a monthly basis (i.e. conversions older than a month are automatically removed). This can be further customized or completely disabled in the history preferences.
