Long story short, Permute was getting a little dusty, without an update for a while now, and I felt that it should not get forgotten. Also, I've felt that Downie could greatly benefit from the acquisition of Permute, since more and more users are asking for various conversion options in Downie.
If you have purchased Permute 2 from Fuel Collective, LLC. via Paddle, please, send us a proof of purchase to receive a free license. Unfortunately, automatic license transfer is not possible.
Permute 2 is a paid upgrade from 1.x. AppStore doesn't allow discounts so there is no upgrade path.

Yes. You can purchase Permute from both the AppStore and via Paddle.
The AppStore version is sandboxed due to Apple's AppStore requirements. This means that certain features such as saving the file into the same folder as the original or ProRes presets are not available in the AppStore version. If you'd like to migrate your AppStore license, please send your AppStore receipt for Permute to support@charliemonroe.net.
