RSS.app Integration

RSS.app is a third-party service that turns sources without native RSS support — X (Twitter), Instagram, TikTok, Facebook pages, and arbitrary websites — into RSS feeds. CMRSS uses it in the Add Feed dialog: pick one of those sources, paste the page link, and the feed is created for you.

Setting Up the Integration

Create an account at rss.app, then generate an API key for CMRSS:

  • In your RSS.app account, click the user button in the top-right corner
  • Select "API" from the menu
  • Generate a new API key for CMRSS to use
  • Enter the key and secret in Settings > Integrations and save

Until the integration is set up, the Add Feed dialog offers an Open Settings button that takes you straight to the right pane.

Pro Plan Requirement

Automatic feed creation through the API requires an RSS.app Pro plan — the API is not included in RSS.app's free tier. Each feed CMRSS creates this way is added to your RSS.app account.

Creating Feeds Manually

You don't need the API to benefit from RSS.app. On any plan, you can create a feed manually on the RSS.app website from the same wide range of sources, copy the feed URL it gives you, and add it in CMRSS as a regular feed via the Feed URL source. The result is the same feed — only created by hand instead of automatically.

Managing the Key

Settings > Integrations shows which API key is in use and lets you remove it. After removal, RSS.app-based sources stop resolving until a new key is added; feeds already created keep working, since they are ordinary RSS feeds.
